Old license Carter County

I'm looking for a frequency that was used by Carter Counrt Animal Control back about 10 years ago or more. I've searched online and everywhere else I could and can't find it. I've gotten word that our sheriff dept uses that old frequency for tactical ops. Anyone got any more suggestions on how I could find it? Any help I would appreciate. Thanks!

The only tried and true method..... Put an scanner to work.... Load it for an search in band of your SO. Considering that in an area not overloaded with freqs.... I would bet you find it pretty easily. Also look for any and all in band FCC Licenses for the County, that includes business band licenses. Also include repeater inputs using other tones, mobile only freqs with other tones than ones that would be for car to car.

Well the problem is that its not licensed anymore im almost sure. Ill have to keep my 197 with me and use signal stalker and hope i find it. Ive googled, searched, checked FCC database and everything. The license expired at least 8 years ago maybe longer, they are just using the frequecy still.

As long as they are not using it high power, or causing any interference on anyone's system, they can legally use any frequency in the band they are licensed for. High power usage is an whole other can of worms, though PS agencies get cut a LOT of slack by the FCC on illegal use of expired/unlicensed frequencies unless they are causing massive interference issues. For example: Brookhaven MS FD used their old freq of 154.1900 MHz unlicensed for 20 years before finally moving onto the County's EOC repeaters. Let me repeat, 20 years. Thats some massive slipping through crackage aye?

Our Sheriff Dept has one of their main Repeaters setup using two frequencies on two different licenses. They do some crazy stuff around here.
