Anyone know if FBI switched to P25 in east texas? I used to hear a lot of key ups and the radio techs around here but haven't heard anything in about a year and a half.

Yesterday, I heard some brief traffic on freq = 168.5875 w/ NAC=169 subject matter = doing surveilence work, etc
So I looked in the National Federal Listing on the RR DB and it shows this: ICE Natl Tac-2 - Anybody RX'd this freq in SATX ?

Imagreation and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
National Listing

Frequency Type Tone Alpha Tag Description Mode Tag
165.83750 M CSQ ICE DHS Comm Department of Homeland Security Common FMN Federal
163.70000 M 169 NAC ICE NatTac 1 National Tactical 1 P25 Federal
168.58750 M 169 NAC ICE NatTac 2 National Tactical 2 P25 Federal
163.11250 M 169 NAC ICE NatTac 3 National Tactical 3 P25 Federal
164.78750 M 169 NAC ICE NatTac 4 National Tactical 4 P25 Federal

ps ~ I saw in the SATX RR DB that the ICE NatTac-1 was allready listed so I made a submission for adding the ICE NatTac-2 to our local listing.

The 166.9875 repeater is strong in Crystal City/ Carrizo Springs, with voice encrypted on $310 and OTAR in analog DC 043. I obviously don't know who it is. Also, lots of plate checks and stops on 163.775 100.0 PL all over the Dimmit/Zavala/LaSalle area, with units clear and dispatch encrypted.

163.775 is probably CBP.

173.862500 NFM NAC 156

MT Fed Files says this is DEA I heard it today at SH-121 and SH-160 (Collin/Fannin/Grayson border) 4 to 5 bars Signal Strength and 100% Fully Encrypted!!!

Being where I was and pulling that much signal strength I'd like to think the repeater is in McKinney or Sherman ....

I just picked up using Signal Stalker 167.7125 NAC=167 encrypted from my home 281 & 1604.
This was most likely the FBI judging by their signature NAC of 167. I looked in the local RR DB
and this freq is not listed even as an input. I'll bet they were traveling along US 281 ? Any ideas ?

Just for kicks I looked in the Houston FBI listing and saw it was listed as a simplex freq there, etc.

167.71250 M 167 NAC FBI 167.7125 Houston Field Office (encryption used) P25 Federal

Default DEA Dallas-NE

DEA TAC 173.862500 NFM NAC 156 MILLER/SHILOH TOWER

Busy, busy, busy hopping channel. This has to be some sort of Dallas Primary or even a relay, but it is heavily used. So well used it now lives in LOCK OUT!!!

As to what is: Miller/Shiloh - That used to be an old designator for DEA and INS/USCS Pre-9/11. There are two towers that stand Side by side close to the location of Miller & Shiloh I believe this is that site. I generally get hardcore Front end overload when in this area scanning certain VHF fed channels.

Heard "Omaha 752 Alpha Mike" (N752AM, AS-350B Ecureuil) on 168.8375 $293 CBP Air 1 and saw a CBP helo leaving from the direction of SAT about the same time.

Haven't been active much lately, been a rough summer at work and with the fam. I'll try to be back around the Texas forum and my database area more now that summer is winding down.

Got some new ones (to me) in San Antonio:

163.1125 $169 ICE Nat'l Tac 3
168.8375 $293 CBP Air 1
169.5500 $C00 no audio, sounds like an open carrier. Might be a source of interference with my scanner, have never heard anything, just locks on to it.
163.7000 $169 ICE Nat'l Tac 1
167.5375 $167 FBI D5 full-time encryption noted
170.7500 $293 Fed Courthouse?

Sorry I've been gone so long and missed these!

In the database for FCI Bastrop is the information for system 6419. That system has been decommissioned and replaced. I found one control channel today 408.250. Anyone have the rest?

With that frequency using the old parameters I am hearing some traffic.

170.7500 $293 Fed Courthouse?
169.55 NAC C00 is probably a National Park
170.75 NAC 293 is likely a federal courthouse

A while ago on the Wichita Falls CBP NET-2 repeater (169.45 PL 100.0) Charlie 100 announced that the net would be down for approximately 3 hours for digital conversion.

I don't know if that means just here or if it was simulcast over several other sites or if they will also change frequencies.

There are several new CBP repeaters on-line in the Houston area. The radio techs are gradually taking down the old ones (1 or 2 per day) and bringing up the new ones. Charlie-100 has said their consoles are not updated with the new Net names yet.

170.1 NAC 301 D-Net 200 Galveston
170.125 CTCSS 100.0 Net 203 Houston
170.125 NAC 304 D-Net 203 Houston
170.4625 NAC 301 D-Net 201 Stafford
171.6625 NAC 301 Houston Seaport (may also be one at IAH airport)
172.0625 unknown NAC, unknown location (weak in Houston, may be in Conroe)

143.9750 R / 148.0500 88.5 - it can use a live validation.

Possibly NET Night is Wednesdays at 2000 Local

There is also a DFW Rptr and a Houston all with 143.9750 as the Repeater

Thanks. I'll listen and see if I can hear anything. Being New Years day they may skip it this week. The schedule shows Wednesday evening net with PL 88.5 but gives the frequency designators.
