Schertz has needed new radios for awhile, they are still using the old P7100 just with a P25 software upgrade. I don't think they would encrypt the primary because that would lock out the county and Cibolo and I don't think Cibolo can afford to get new radios or have encryption programmed into theirs.

The new radios Schertz have the last three numbers of the LID's are in the 800 and 900 series. On new talkgroups that show up and are encrypted try and catch the LID's, At least we can identify the TG by numbers if not by voice. Schertz was the only city on the P25 system to not get new radios when the switch-over was made. Just a software upgrade. So this was bound to happen.

Looks like the new radios that Schertz has will have the new tgs of 12172 to 12185. I have only seen 12176 used at this time. I didn't keep my old files. I will see what I find.

Are those new talkgroups encrypted? If they are then that might not be good because they me being changing there talkgroup lineup when all the new radios are issued and go full encrypted like New Braunfels. Like I said before I hope at least primary stays clear.

And those last two ID's are dispatch consoles, see what happens.

I don't know if all of the new tgs are encrypted. I have only seen a key up on tg 12176. TG 12176 is encrypted.

Looks like Schertz Fire is getting new radios being tested on their fire channel today. Last three of the ID's are in the 900 series. I also saw a Schertz City Marshal with a radio ID in the 900 series for the last three

Saw a Cibolo PD unit with a new radio ID with the last three 801. But the audio sounds the same as it has been since the switch to P25 unlike the Schertz units with the new radios that sound extra digital(if that makes sense).
