Thanks for the update. I have been loging all day on the Live Oak site. I will post what I find later today.

The radios also are scanning tg 12001 to 12003 and 12161 to 12163 and 12167. 12163 I have 3 hits. 12002 I have 47 hits.

Tg 12002 is UC Public Works. It sounds like it did on tg 116 on the old Live Oak system.

Also the same encrypted radio with 878 as the last three popped up on SZPD 4 and 12176..Still curious as to what the new talkgroups are going to be. May be assigning new talkgroups to Schertz.

Tg 12105 is ch 4. I don't know what tg 12176 is used for.

Was it a new radio ID or an old radio ID? I have seen it both ways before.

It was two handheld ID's both times. Surprised they have not gotten handhelds yet. usually the handhelds are traded out first then the mobiles.

I think the car radios are new and the handhelds are old.

Thanks

Don or NC, is it accurate to assume that the old Live Oak EDACS TRS is still operating
due to the city of Schertz and them having some old radios still or is it due to coverage issues ?

Edit: Or do the various cities just like having redundancy just in case the LCRA P25 TRS goes down .... ?
Or is the old EDACS system kept for a patching gateway to Conventional VHF FD Fire Tone-Out pagers ?
Or does the LCRA just love having the Bexar Co Area roaming capability for various departments still using the EDACS TRS ?
Or Answer # E .... " None Of the Above " ....

I do know that the old Live Oak system is still on the air. I am guessing that it is still deing used for interop for the fireground tgs and the old LCRA 900 MHz system.

It is up as a Back up system to the digital site. plus some random LCRA users still pop up on there like Hays H.S. and some LCRA crews. All the Fire channels for the Randolph area agencies and Schertz PD(for now) are still patched to it.

Also the "older" Schertz PD and FD radios are operating on the P25 side, they had to have a software upgrade for the switch over, but now they are getting brand new Harris radios and I have heard some Motorola APX series radios as well. All the other Randolph area agencies got new harris radios when the switch was made to the P25 system so Schertz is playing catch up right now.

Looks like all the Schertz units have got new handhelds and mobiles now, So I am assuming SZPD 4, 3 and there Tac channels are now encrypted, Good thing is they don't use those three channels that often and keep most stuff on their primary.

I do know that tg 12171 is encrypted. If I had to guess I will say that all the new tgs that we have found are also encrypted.
