Sniffed out a new 700 MHz APCO P25 TRS CC here in Killeen, TX. Frequency for the CC for the past 2-3 weeks is 769.83125 MHz. NAC is 024. Unitrunker has it as Site 002-002. 924D5-OFE. No talkgroups info yet on it. Any idea who it belongs to?

I seem to recall that the city of Killeen was planning to purchase a new digital radio system about 1-2 years ago. So this might be that new system they were talking about upgrading to. Likewise, Bell County was planning to overhaul their trunked radio system, but the last I heard about a year ago, they were looking at going with ProVoice from Harris.

Here is an news article about the consolidation of radio communications in Bell County. Makes for some very interesting reading that may well explain what radio system you have found.

That looks like a very old article, from before the EDACS system was installed. The Bell County Communications center was opened in 1999. Good find and reading, nonetheless.

With so many sites listed on Unitrunker, could this TRS be some sort of an Urban Area Security Inititive (USAI), or interoperability overlay system?

Pro96Com works great on our P25 systems up here in the Great Lakes region. We have had some false readouts from Unitrunker. However, Pro96com does a much better job.

Whenever I try to run unitrunker on the local P25 system I get lots of bogus sites, systems and control channels.
Hi Tom; I recently found and fixed a number of bugs related to VHF and UHF systems that use explicit channel addressing. Look for the announcement of release 20. I'd like to hear how well it works for you.

OK I'll do that.
My local system is VHF and I have the same problem on 2 different tapped scanners and a Yaesu FT-7800R that has baseband audio output for data use.

FCC ULS License granted on 5 December 2011. WQON926 - Bell County - new SY - Trunked Public Safety 700 MHz, in Belton, Texas. Looks like it is going to be used for Critical Public Safety Local and Interoperabity Communications. List eighteen frequencies. Three look to be repeater outputs.

769.10625000
769.83125000
770.55625000

TRS has been burning in for 11 months before license was issued. Looks to be a P25. NAC 024. No activity on the frequencies yet other than the Control Channel on 769.10625000 MHz.

Daily Wells - San Antonio, Texas appears to be the radio service installing the new TRS. Signal quality here in SW Killeen, TX is 96%-99%.

Based on the 924D5 WACN I can almost guarantee you that it's a Harris/MA-COM P25IP system. No need to worry about ProVoice; Harris P25 systems are functionally identical to Motorola P25 systems as far as the scanner listener is concerned.

Pro-Voice in Killeen Hopefully Trashed

Since I venture into Killeen from time to time, I'll load a Auto P25 with the recommended CC. Then, I will report my findings.
