Default Cable for 996T?

Anyone in Dallas area have the cable that goes into the front jack on the 996T I can borrow to do firmware updates. You can program thru the DB9 but not upgrade. I am selling a 996T for a friend, and it has original firmware and would like to at least offer it with the newest firmware.

I can buy lunch, gas or something. Or meet somewhere with 120V AC as the battery on my old laptop is not so good anymore.

many thanks....

It's the same cable as all of the other DMA scanners (246T, 346T, 396T, 396XT, etc.). The only ones I have are the original, serial, cables that came with the scanners. I use a USB->serial adapter for my laptop. Both of my two desktops have serial ports.

WOW thanks Jason, I wasn't expecting such a quick response. I have to work the next couple of days, and that includes mornings. But maybe toward the end of the week. I am self employed, so if the phone rings, I go to work. Will try in a few days if all the stars align!!!

thanks...

Yes Steve I know its the same as the DMA cables with other scanners. Just trying to get the firmware updated however possible, and then can offer the unit for sale and the new owner can find the cable that works best for them. Serial or USB.

thanks again
