nicknpd I know that DPS is authorized to use it and the only time I see talkgroups activated on the 700 system on any of the SO or PD channels is when the DPS Helo is working on a certain talkgroup. Other than that I have only heard radio techs talking about the system.

On another note City has patched 1-O Traffic to the original 2-A Traffic channel together I am assuming since Fiesta just started. Heard DWI units all over the city and Carnival units last night but everyone still calling 1-O the Traffic channel. Seems a third channel was patched Mutual Aid 31 last night.

That's really a shame but I imagine it's related to the pace of the P25 radio refresh. We would need a major event to come through the region in order to see what activity lights up (I'm sure there would be a sizable amount of patching going on to make it work).

I've been spoiled since I moved out east; everyone for 100 miles north and south are on one system.
