The admins have updated the database at 10:52 this morning
with the talkgroups that 'favin' provided 2 days ago.

Although that shouldn't have prevented you from being able
to update your scanner. The site frequencies for the Midlothian
system have been in the database since April so you could have
already had those loaded into your scanner and then just manually
added the talkgroups that were posted here 2 days ago. There is
always a way to update your scanner regardless of whether
something is in the RR database or not.

Just to add, the Midlothian-Red Oak related talkgroups should be in the Uniden update that is issued on the Monday of each week. Data is pulled Sundays, with the update released the next day.

For the GRE/Whistler scanners, their updates are normally issued on Saturdays, but I don't know, offhand, exactly when they pull their update information. If that had already been run before the actual database entries were made, then it could be a week from tomorrow before they show up. As Chris has also noted, the actual frequencies had been in FWRRS for some time, and could have been scanned via ID Search (Uniden scanners) or Wildcard (GRE/Whistler).

Looks like it has been corrected.

So far, after logging activity the last few days, I'm only seeing P25 Phase I activity, no Phase II yet that I've seen.

Why not just post whatever question you have here?
Plenty of folks on here that can help you. I for one
am not keen on giving out personal information (i.e. e-mail address)
to a stranger. Nothing personal mind you. That's also
why I ignored your FB requests that you sent. Just not a
fan of giving out personal info to a stranger.

If you insist on private communication, you can do so on this
site via PM. But you need to enable private messages on your
account though. You currently have that option disabled.

If you do choose to post your question here (or anywhere else
for that matter) please make sure to provide as much details
as possible as to the issue that you are having. That will help
everyone to be able to better answer your question and/or solve
whatever issue you are currently having with this system.

Sorry about that. Had lots of numbers running through my head and across my desk yesterday morning. Glad someone caught it and fixed it.

Anyone else in NE Tarrant able to hear this site? I donít pick anything up at all. Is this site going to be like Irving and GP where I have to be basically in the area to hear it? Any word of all of the towers are online yet?

The site is on the air. I was able to decode the control channel a couple weeks ago during a tropo opening.

I'm not in NE Tarrant, but from my location the site
comes in loud and clear. Not a very busy system though.

Chris,

Are you seeing any Phase II activity on the Midlothian-Red Oak layer? I've had it logging almost 24/7 for the past two weeks or so, only seeing Phase I usage so far.

Thanks Chris

We know it's capable of Phase II, but not in use at this time. I'm wondering if any other Ellis County cities will join the party on this system.

I don't believe there are other Ellis agencies planning to join the system in the near-term, although there is some discussion at the county level regarding a potential move to this system at some point. I doubt this will happen anytime soon as there has been no discussion in the commissioners court meetings regarding this item, funding, etc. that I'm aware of.

I don't know of any plans to move this system to Phase II, however Midlo/RO did purchase radios capable of Phase II to avoid causing Mansfield and other Phase II sites to revert to Phase I if Midlo/RO units are on their sites.

http://www.midlothian.tx.us/ArchiveC...File/Item/4402

"Our system is an FDMA system which provides one talk path per repeater channel (5 talk repeaters). This is quite adequate for the foreseeable future of our NEED system. However, we have learned since then that our neighbors, Mansfield and Grand Prairie, are converting their systems to TDMA, which allows them to have two talk paths per repeater channel , almost doubling their available talk paths. If we use one of our FDMA mobiles or portables on their systems, it causes one repeater channel to revert to FDMA, effectively removing a talk channel for their use. Our Fire and Police have Mutual Aid and Automatic Aid agreements with both of these cities and not -infrequently respond within their City Limits on calls. The only way to avoid degrading their TDMA systems is to convert our mobile and portable radios to TDMA. The cost to convert all Midlothian subscriber units to TDMA is $31,080 ($259.00/radio for 120 radios)"

Mansfield, so far at least, has apparently remained as Phase I. Johnson County, which also borders Midlothian, also has remained as Phase I. Arlington, which also has areas that approach Midlothian, went Phase II.)'d just as soon see Midlothian remain Phase I, so that I could one of the older scanners for it.
