Those look possibly to be private call radio Ids - radio to radio calls verses group calls.... Good find. Not completely out of the ordinary.

Given the situation, maybe they haven't yet had time to set up talkgroups and program all of the radios, perhaps they are just using the system like phones where one radio just directly calls another.

Or it could be the system admins/installers which could just be getting things set up - depends on the conversation.

Those are individual (private) calls on the current EDACS system, Pretty common the bus system uses them all the time here.

But in speculating over what the new applications for the 700 MHz sites might mean did anyone else notice that the Kingsville site of the Corpus EDACS system migrated over to P25 a few weeks back. I can't hear that site from my part of town but was listening to it last week when I was over in the south side of Corpus. I was using an HP2 so I could not tell if it was phase 1 or 2 but it had lots of traffic. Since that site was (still is?) networked with the other sites in the 4 County system I wonder if this means the other sites will start moving to P25 sometime in the near future. Probably need to start checking the freqs of each site now and then watching for a second control channel that reads as P25.
