Default Houston PD Dispatch has Changed.

The Houston Police Dept. Dispatch has Changed.
The Freq. 460.475 use to Only cover the Northwest side of Houston.
Now 460.475 has now included covering the West side of Houston.

I use to live in the West side of Houston and listened to the 460.150 HPD Dispatch.

I now live in the Northwest side of Houston for about a year and listen to 460.475.

After Jan, 01, 2008 the Houston Police Dispatch for the Northwest side of Houston has now included covering the West side of Houston on the Freq. of 460.475.

I am wondering what other areas of coverage have changed.

Only 18 district went to Northwest dispatch. The other two stayed on Westside I believe.

Probably not. I was used to listening to 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 on Southwest mic.
One day they changed 18, 19, and 20 to Westside, and did not tell me that they had made the change. One reason I didn't notice was because I lived on the what became the boundary between Southwest and Westside mics, and there was enough traffic on the SW mic to not miss what became Westside mic.

Well, I guess they did it again. I missed the switch since 19 District has been "hopping" the past two weeks.

Earlier this month, HPD District 18 was moved from Westside Dispatch, which covers the area west of the West Loop and south of the Katy Freeway, Galleria area (18), Sharpstown/Alief, west of the SW Freeway (19), and the area west of Gessner, north of Harwin, and south of the Katy Freeway (20), to the Northwest Dispatch area, Districts 4 and 5, and covers the slice of pie area south of US 290, west of the West Loop, and north of the Katy Freeway. It is a big deal, because this rarely happens, especially because of the expenses involved in rerouting the data from one dispatch to the other as well as other support functions and construction of a new sub-station. Remember, a switch of this magnitude involves coordination from the local area to DPS and the FBI to make certain requested information is sent to the correct dispatcher and/or MDTs.

Exclamation West Side

I've been gone from their awhile but use to listen to Wagner on S.W then he went to Westside.
From what I understand his is Supervisor over westside and sw, but that was 3-4 yrs ago.

But the change doesn't surprise me to much with the way the city is growing and the different districts.
I use to listen to nothing but Central when Dan was dispatching. Then ch7 &8 but that is way before ch 8 was ever thought about being taped. That all came about with one of the towaway wreckers and a northside owner made a fool of himself with the step units.
On 45 north & 610 . And the towaway wreckers had everything except SWAT and VICE.
This way even before one of the Rashes came up with safe tow. Were talking a long, long time ago.
