I would park on that freq tomorrow at 1600. Might be a daily net. Good catch!

According to the SHARES website they have 200 HF frequencies available.

I saw a pdf file listing 200 HF frequencies within SHARES. However the frequency I heard it on was not listed so they may have revised it. I usually park my sdr in the 20 meter ham band and if I saw a signal in SSB outside to the right of 14.350 it sparks my attention then I tune to it and see what it is. It was listed as a M.A.R.S. frequency at http://qrg.globaltuners.com/?q=14.396&s=1 but net controller NS312 mentioned S.H.A.R.E.S. net. In which searching the callsign NS312 in google search brought up tags for S.H.A.R.E.S. This forms a question in my mind. Is M.A,R.S. still active? Another question, is SHARES taking the place of M.A.R.S.?

I suppose the NCS piece of NCS312 indicates The National Communications Services INC (NCSI),http://www.natcomm.com/
Perhaps a government contracted entity?

From what I can see most of all their HF communications are conducted via ALE. I've been monitoring 14396 since this thread was post but so far have heard nothing. :(
