The 146.805 repeater in Canton has been relocated to a place providing much better coverage... if anyone in the area wants to plug it in and give us a reception report we would love to know how far out we are reaching. You hams in the area join us M-W-F at 7:00pm for a semi-formal net and ragchew.

No tone, but it is a non standard postive offset to avoid interference with the 146.805 machine in Gastonia.

Yeah, keep that stuff away from us

Is it just a +.600, or some other odd split. I ask because I was reading about a 147.505 tx 146.505 rx repeater somewhere in NC....

Ok, It'll be fun listening to the Gastonia OFs complaining about it :D Some of them west of Gaston county already say that your repeater "puts out too much power", might just have to listen to them tonight

If they would put a tone on the output, they'd not have that problem. Of course they'd need a radio built in the last 100 years too

Hah, we are actually about to tone our output because we get the same thing. The great thing about that is that the OF's with old radios still can listen just the same, and when they complain we can just say "well if you had a decent radio..."

For many years it was in a great spot, then about 3 years ago the owner moved it to his home and it coverage really dropped. Now it is back up in a good spot (130' tower), still a tad lower than the height it is coordinated for... but actually ERP is lower than it is coordinated for also..... for now.

I have access now to a site on a mountain at 5900 feet, if I moved it up there I would blow them off the map.... tell them to be glad it is still down in the valley. Our 444.850 machine is going up on the mountain this month, should be able to key it from your area no problem.
