Well Central AL listeners, we may have "another" MOTOBRO user. I have been heard "digital" traffic on 150.995 for the past few days. It has been intermixed with Elmore Co Road Dept traffic and the "data" traffic that I hear in Tallapoosa Co.
I know that Wilcox Co is licensed for 150.995 and in the past I have heard Wilcox Co SO using the frequency. So keep your "ears" open for a possible user id (if it is not Wilcox Co).

I guess us "Central AL" listeners should band together and see if we can pool resources and get a deal on "some" MOTOBRO radios so we listen to the traffic (if it isn't encrypted).

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to ALL!

On my BCD396T (w/stock antenna) I've heard, several times now, of what appears to be some "digital data" sounds on a couple of the conventional VHF DPS (State Troopers) frequencies along with NPSPAC5 (868.0125MHz) and a couple of the ALDOT frequencies and a few of the Alabama Forestry/Park frequencies that I monitor in my area (Anniston/Oxford) too.

the digital stuff on DPS, was reported at 1 time to be some P25. The forestry I haven't heard any digital (data) down this way . I am not sure if I have them in just FM mode or listed with PL's will check & program em both ways just in case/ I may have a Pro 93 & 97 up for sale soon IF I should be getting the base 197 I want for Christmas.. will have to wait & see hehe
Anything more On The DOC freqs or was that someone else I was mumbling with about that

Ok I'll try this again (since my junk computer and sorry phone/internet service trashed the 1st try).
Paul, listen to 150.995 (131.8) when you can, that is actually the Elmore Co road Dept or what I call my "fun channel". I get a kick out of their antics, even when they are serious they are hilarious.
Now the 150.995 (210.7) "data" is the same that I hear. To me it sounds like telemetry, so it is probably a waterworks or something similar. 151.010 is still the flagman's channel if it isn't used as a repeater output, off hand I can't remember the areas that use it as the repeater output.

Tracey, I have heard P25 traffic on 155.445 (DPS 2 Car), 159.210 (DPS Detail ?), 154.770 (ABC) and 151.130 (ALDOT). At the times i heard the traffic I didn't have any of my "digital decoding" scanners close by. Since then I have heard bits and pieces of P25 traffic on the above frequencies with my "DD" scanners never enough to pin down locations. As far as Forestry, there are some 159 frequencies that has P25 traffic that maybe being heard on the AFC frequencies just one more thing to investigate.

About ALDOC, nothing of late heard on the lowband frequencies but i have them in my scanning routine.
I have included in that routine, 453.8125, this one shows up licensed Statewide and at many locations including some of the Work Release Centers. So this maybe used at sites where no UHF repeater is set up and between mobiles (close in use).

I will be doing some detective work on these areas since I got my 106 off layaway and should have a 197 sometime next week. At least I got 2 good birthday and Christmas presents this year.

Paul, I guess you could I have cheated. I am using Warren's p500 files from the Central AL Yahoo group as my guide/backup to my files I have created. I am actually using the V-folders on the 106.
I never used the V-folders on my 96 but I guess I will now.

I used Warren's p96 files also & then got into win96 & changed em around a bit. good way to learn is to look at others files & edit & play with em to get em the way you want :). I didn't use the V folders & deleted em. I do have 1 folder I use for the 96 when I go to B'ham tho

150.995 Update

Today I heard the first report of a problem with the "new" user and MOTOBRO (if it is indeed MOTOBRO). One of the Elmore Co Road Dept worker was talking to the office ("Base") about the "interference" on the channel. He referred to it as the "buzzing" and "they" were working on pinpointing the problem. I know that on my scanners the digital transmissions can be heard even when using a CTCSS tone. So with this development, there seems to be a possible conflict "brewing between analog users and digital users.
I guess we'll see what happens and where it goes. Just this "old" dispatcher's thoughts.

Paul, no problem about the e-mail it has been semi-crazy between our three households as well.
It would nice if we can let the Elmore Co Road Dept know what the problem is but all of my "contacts" that might be able to help are either retired and changed "positions".
