• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

About a week ago, the 154.86MHz North Utah County Sheriff Law frequency, linked to UCAN went quiet. Does anyone have any additional information on this? I'm guessing it's gone quiet for good, not just down for repairs as it's almost been a week now. Several other linked frequencies appear to be offline as well.

Just curious if they've been moved, or if public service in this area has moved to strictly to the UCAN system with no linked frequencies anymore...

Dang, that was one of the few remaining VHF public safety frequencies that I could pick up. Pretty much everything public safety in the metro area seems to be on UCA. All the conventional non trunked freqs have gone quiet over the past few years.
