Have for the past few weeks been hearing some railroad traffic on this frequency in the downtown Suffolk Va area

155.820 strong in the area close to the csx lines

That frequency is set aside for public safety such as fire, police and EMS so I doubt it is CSX. It could be someone just near that location. Here is the result of an FCC check for that frequency for the entire state of Virginia. There are only 12 licensed users. I don't know the area so you can look at the list and see if anything is close to you.

Run a 2nd Scanner in Search, likely it's an image from the 160-162 RR Freq, as you mention it only occurs when close to the tracks :wink:

Always room for a flame post but I'm way ahead of you, I have moved on but check from time to time to see any developments and found this BIGGER mess. Thank you for inviting me back for comment.
