• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

On Weds 10/26/16 around 10:30AM was searching the railroad frequencies and heard a repeater on 160.815 was not railroad traffic. Did a fcc database search and found a couple of active users on this frequency. Radio traffic was asking someone to meet them inside a building. Sounded like a contractor for construction with dump trucks. Signal was very loud from a Bearcat 300 about 30 feet above ground without using a outdoor antenna. Just using the pull up whip that came with the Bearcat 300. Anyone have any ideas on who this may be? Thank you.

Considering the sheer volume of construction projects in and around the Metro INDY area.... If you can copy an tighter location, like intersections, etc... We can narrow it down.
