DXing longwave in the summer? Yes, probably crazy, but there's weak French talk breaking through the static right now on 162 Khz at 0400 UTC (about sunrise in France). No other broadcasters noted on the other "regular" LW channels. Amazing how far a megawatt or two will reach :)

I'm looking forward to the upcoming DX season! I had to get an early taste.

Keep in mind propagation on LW doesn't obey the same rules as HF. On LW, it's more dependent on following the magnetic lines of the planet than the ionosphere.

Still a nice catch in the depths of summer, though....Mike

It's the old Allouis transmitter, lots of power there 2Megawatts and a good site in the Bordeaux marshes if it's the same one my Mum used to listen to in the UK.
