On October 2, from my 2nd story hotel window at Clarion Inn in Federal Way, Washington(Just south of Seattle) I heard traffic between two movile units, sounded like construction contractors, with talk to scaffolding and dry wall installation plus very salty language. Conversation was simplex (or repeater input), believe they were travelling on I-5. Time was approx 6 PM Pacific time. Around 8 am the next morning, I heard the same two guys; sounded like they were on I-5. They were in my range about 15 minutes each time.
Heard all this on 165.075 on PRO-43. Thinking it might be a harmonic or image, I switched to my Icom T7 handheld but it was oon 165.075 there also. Anybody have any idea who this could be?

Talkaround/direct channel for that trucking company.

They were on it again this morning, transiting the puget sound area north to south.

Definitely Canadian, based on accents (99% of my family is Canadian) and references to Surrey, North Van, and all points BC.

Definitely truckers, based on conversations about scales, truckstops, air brakes, etc.

Definitely coarse language.

No PL, sorry.

I'm now wondering if I didn't hear a pair of Canadian truckers about two years ago. I was working along an interstate and heard simplex comms on 164.375 w/ 156.7 PL. They were talking about the roads and they were gone in a few minutes. I've never found a federal user that seemed to match up, so I wonder if they may have been a trucking company. After reviewing the Canadian channels (what I could find), it would seem that the actual freq would have had to have been 164.370 and that I just assumed it to be 164.375 because of American frequency spacing.

Do you know of any American trucking companies that use talkaround or simplex freqs for their en-route travels when traveling in pairs or groups?

I am just off I70 and on occasion get traffic in the 160's that includes truckers and even wearhouse comms. One is in Indy in the 167 range and that one includes the drivers going between warehouses.

I'm also considering that my 164.375 (156.7 PL) could be US Forest Service talking simplex on a freq normally used as a repeater input. It would be Tone 6 per this page.
