I'm hearing what may be park rangers on this repeater. They have southern accents, mentioned "Clearview", and ran a plate that came back to a place that sounds like "Wilkesboro". Their dispatch is called "control". Does anyone know where this is coming from? Thanks.

EDIT: It might have been "Wilkes-Barre", instead of "Wilkesboro". This might be coming from Pennsylvania.

In Georgia this freq is used by US Forest Service in the Chattahoochee National Forest, PL 136.5.

Hope this helps.

Wilkes-Barre is in PA. Much closer than the Chattahoocee NP. But, with all the wx systems moving thru here in GA, it could have been ducting.

Wilkesboro is a city in North West North Carolina and is the major trading center for the area.
It is near the Pisgah National National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway passes nearby.

The USFS uses many 168 MHz frequencies in North Carolina that are 25 Khz apart.
168.725, 168.750, and 168.800 are used By the Uwharrie, Pisgah, and Nantahala National Forests.

The use of 168.775 is consistent with USFS NC frequency usage patterns.
