If you are in the Rhinelander/Iron Mountain region give this frequency a listen. I listened friday, saturday & sunday and I wasn't able to ID the federal user.

Assigned to three agencies by IRAC as a common use / shared frequency for Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service Administration and the Bureau of Reclaimation... ALL in the western states, NOT the midwest. Very curious to say the least.

Did you hear a repeater or was it simplex?

It was a repeater. I could hear a dispatcher and mobiles mention locations throughout northern wisconsin and the western U.P.

Just back from the northwoods. It appears the frequency is used by the Department of Veterans Affairs for security at the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain and VA Clinics in northern Wisconsin and Michigan's U.P.

I would concur.. good copy over most of Northern Marinette and sounds like security in a building like a hospital and maybe even maintenence..
