171.3125 MHz in Waterloo

There seems to be a plumbing company active on 171.3125 MHz in the Waterloo area today. I found them on Close Call.

Anyone know who is using this frequency? I couldn't find anything in TAFL.

My guess would be you heard a mobile tx from the City of Waterloo Works Dept.
If that is the case, the true frequency would be 171.315.
What is the step size set to for VHF in your scanner?

This is definitely a plumbing company. They are talking about installing water heaters in homes.

Yes you are hearing the City of Kitchener Utilities department which is obviously homed on this LTR channel.

I guess give this system a try in your scanner: City of Kitchener Trunking System, , Ontario - Scanner Frequencies

as per ve3nsv's suggestion and see which talkgroup comes up for the utility.

remember close call uses the default step sizes, any freq located with close call should be rounded up/down to the nearest 15 khz step before refering to TAFL.
