From my radio post here in Colorado Springs I hear a weak signal on 172.5125 110.9 Hz.

It could be a National Forest or Park.

Anyone know what I am hearing? Thanks in advance, Mick

They are active again today on 172.5125 110.9 Hz, repeater. They were discussing some people on ATV's that had rifles slung over their backs. This sounded like Park Rangers, and they talked about giving warnings or taking possible criminal action against the ATV riders. I'll keep listening as I try to determine their location.

With many of the Forests making changes to comply with the NTIA Freq standards, forests have changed frequencies and much is still needed to be found. See if they mention trails or other defining markers to attempt to ID this user

172.5125 110.9 is full strength in Woodland Park. Although it has a very short squelch tail, the signal strength never varies suggesting it is a repeater output. Haven't found the input yet. Just heard callsigns 108Adam and Lincoln 12. Per the Douglas County WIKI, the callsigns suggest the repeater is for Douglas SO, particularly the southwest portion of the county where 800 coverage is often poor. Have previously heard references to Rampart Range Road also. I need a fleeing felon to try to hide in the Rainbow Falls Park area to really confirm the above. Any volunteers?
