You'd feel older if you actually remember using some of them!
I do! Boston PD was still mostly only VHF at that time, but the transition to UHF was starting. Quincy PD was on UHF already, except for the auxiliary PD.
I was in retail in consumer electronics starting in about 1974, we sold a lot of scanners and a lot of crystals. I had all of the south shore frequencies memorized.
During the transition to BAPERN a lot of people came in with "dead" scanners and we sold a lot of crystals and new scanners because of that.
