I've noticed when scanning St Louis EMS dispatch a couple of terms used..

1. 'sick case' - is this just someone 'not feeling well' or code for something else?
2. 'please be advised, party is a 'violent OBS' or maybe 'OVS' hard to tell..

thanks!

sick case, as previously stated, could be anything from food poisoning to just about any illness.

"obs" was always referred to (from working in the ER long time ago) "overly belligerent ****head" or "overly belligerent subject/suspect"

also we couldn't say that someone was drunk.. we always had to refer them as having "ETOH on-board"

ETOH is the chemical term (i believe) for ethel alcohol.

Used often in Macoupin Montgomery and Madison Counties (IL) through the years
