2 x DMR systems - both using TG901

Greetings,

Long time reader of the forum. I’ve just started using DSD+ again.

Local to me, I have 2 x DMR systems, they both use the same frequency and both use talkgroup 901. I’ve not even looked at radio IDs at this point.

DMR system 1 uses colour code 1
DMR system 2 uses colour code 15

They both use frequency 455.xxxxx
They both use talk group 901

When I’m monitoring this frequency using fmp24, it’s looking up the TG name from the groups file, but obviously getting mixed up because it doesn’t know the difference in colour codes.

2 questions.
-How can I program the system so it knows which system it is via colour code? And brings through correct talkgroup name?
-If i just want to listen to one of these systems (cc15) and not (cc1) how do I do that?

Obviously I can achieve this no bother with my uniden 3600xlt scanner. But thoroughly enjoying DSD+ at minute. Especially seeing alpha tag radio ids being pulled through over the air, that did blow my mind.

Thank you in advanced

A true DMR Scanner like the 325p2 996p2 436hp 536hp SDS100 and SDS200 will do this with no problem programmed as different systems by different color codes. Heck I can make my new BCD160DN or BCD260DN sort them by just color code alone.

Add the color code for each system in the dsdplus.frequencies file , in the following example the first system is cc10 and the second is cc9 --

DMR, 5432, 1, 1, 151.3325, 0.0, 0, 10 ; Front Royal VA
DMR, 5433, 1, 1, 151.3325, 0.0, 0, 9 ; Front Royal VA

Thank you.

I have added both of them lines in, I’m guessing this is just for displaying the correct info?

How does it work in the groups folder? In terms of picking up the names of the talk group? I’m thinking I have to add 2 lines for tg name? But how do I separate them in the groups file?

Are they systems or stand alone conventional freqs? Can you provide a link to both?

If it’s 2 different systems, there will be 2 different system id’s and that should reflect in your groups file if you have everything set up properly.

Hi Dave.

How do you mean link? Unlike in the US, in UK our systems info isn’t freely available online.

These are 2 separate systems, where can I check system ID?

If these are showing as DMR in the status bar and also writes that to the DSDPlus.groups and DSDPlus.radios files, then there is no "over the air" system ID (or network ID) broadcast. The same applies for Motorola Capacity+ and Hytera XPT systems. In all of these cases, you can create a pseudo network ID to distinguish between them in DSDPlus.

Look at what @BM82557 posted earlier:

Add the color code for each system in the dsdplus.frequencies file , in the following example the first system is cc10 and the second is cc9 --

DMR, 5432, 1, 1, 151.3325, 0.0, 0, 10 ; Front Royal VA
DMR, 5433, 1, 1, 151.3325, 0.0, 0, 9 ; Front Royal VA

He has assigned 5432 and 5433 as the unique pseudo network ID's. Once DSDPlus locks onto one, it will write that same Network ID to the groups and radios files, thus keeping them separate in that sense.

Pseudo Network ID's can be any number in the range of 1 to 65535 (looking at my own DSDPlus.networks file, I have 66 unique pseudo network ID's assigned, and the only time I run into trouble between them is if they use the same color code on the same frequency, but are geographically so far apart they would never interfere in regular use), but there is no hard and fast rule as to how to assign them.

DMR BASE STATION colour code 1

No system ID. Are system IDs just for p25?
