LOVE that center console...very clean...did you make it?

Yes he built that console, I wish I was able to construct something that nice.

BTW, that is a very clean install!

Also, check your PMs gfrench!

I did make it. I could not find anything that really worked for me and as you can see I really hate clutter- wires etc.

I took some 1 x 1 stock and built a square from the measurements of the width of my two radios and the width of the uprights and that became my base. I then figured the height that I needed to hold my CB since it was longer than any other radio that I have as this needed to be placed in the first opening due to the design and then I cut 6 uprights at that length.

Then had to figure the angle so I could make sure I could shift and cut the bottom of six uprights at the proper angle. I cut them longer than I needed so I would have plenty of Material to make the proper cuts to give it the right angle for the face of the box. I measured the width of the CB and that determind the placement for the 2nd set of uprights. Then measure the width of the scanner and that determind the placement of the 3rd and final set of uprights. If you figured it out correctly it will match perfectly with the square base that was built first.

Then cut the top of the uprights based on the radios as they set in the box and it gave it the perfect angle. I then covered the inside of the uprights (where radios will slide in) with some material- same as your headliner material Covered the box in a very thin plywood and covered it a good heavy Naugahide.

As any job it is in the detail and making it look finished- that took some time.

I use the Antennex for my Pro-2096 (BNC connector) I use this scanner for digital as most everything on my side of town is digital and I use the MaxRad for my MPA covertacom that holds my EDACS MPA (TNC conector) use this for all of the other agency's in the city.

Really nice set-up you have! I am like you in that it is nice to be able to just put your finger out and touch your equipment instead of having to lean forward to make any adjustments you might want to make! Two ?'s ..... What extension speaker is that next to the gearshift and what is it mounted to?

Looks like the Uniden bearcat extension speaker mounted into one of those cupholder mounts you can find on the web.

Also GFrench, if you dont mind do you remember how much money you invested into the console only?

It is a bearcat speaker. I just mounted the bracket on the speaker to the sleve that is inside the cupholder. The sleve just pops out and on the underside is a little lip- used a couple nuts and bolts and large washers and kind of clamp the bracket to the edge- just pop it in and it is very solid.

Total investment of materials on the console was $15.00.

Great antenna. I tried a couple others and could not get my swr under 2.5.

With where i have it mounted, i know it is always difficult to get the best readings.

This is a very solid and sturdy antenna and with the adjustable tip my swr is 1.1 to 1.3.

very neat setup. where did you get the console? I have a Mazda that would use the same setup.
re-read the thread and you'll see how he explains how he made it.
