Homemade console. It isn't finished I am still waiting on the spare cash to cover the whole thing in bed liner. It is installed for now.
Cdm 1550 uhf remote mounted (403-470 45 watts) local fire
Kenwood TMv71 Ham radio
Bearcat BCT 796 used to monitor county sheriff and EMS on 800

This looks good! How did you make the console? Like, what materials and the like? Looks pretty good and if it serves your needs then it's a great install!

Looks good. I have owned more than one Tahoe for the purpose of having a place for radios! (and a good 4WD too!)

I used 5/8 inch underlayment (particle board). To make the joints solid I used 2x2 furring and secured it all with 1 inch wood screws and gorilla brand wood glue. It being my first console I think it came out nicely. Thanks for the comments guys.

The faceplates I got off ebay. Seeing how it is custom build I used a troy ,a jotto and a havis faceplate. I did have the big console in the truck with the Bose amp and sub in it. Be warned as I found out that amp runs the door speakers as well I normally don't listen to the stereo so I just found out. So now I have to find a way to mount the amp and sub in the new console.
Here are some pics of the progress of the build sorry they aren't more detailed I designed and build the console in about an hour and took about two months to fill the holes with wood putty , sand and throw some cheap spray paint I had laying around.

Is the two small antennas too the left and too the right UHF antennas?

The one to the right is 800mhz, the one to the left is uhf (440 mhz)
