Hello All, below is my 2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71. I have two mobile radios installed. One is a VHF Motorola Maratrac 99 chanel model. It will accept our local ham 2 meter frequency (147.06+). I use the mobile in my job as 911 Director for the county. The other is a Motorola CDM1250 UHF mobile. It WON'T accept anything "out of band" as far as out UHF ham freq. Both units have remote mount control heads. I have the heads mounted as shown with the "trunk units" mounted under the rear passenger seats. I use a Larsen "on the glass" antenna for the UHF unit. I have a fender mounted NMO mount for the VHF unit. Shown is the 1/4 wave antenna, but, I also have a 5/8 wave loded antenna that I occassionally put on too. The VHF is mounted on the driver's side of the truck...Steve/KB8FAR

The loom isn't really necessary. Everything is HIDDEN when the seats are in place.....Steve

I think he was just implying that loom would hide the wires giving the presentation more appeal, but hey as long as everything works great job!
