Hi all,

Here is my setup in my car:

Uniden BCD996XT for general scanning
uniden.jpg
Baojie BJ-318 for ambulance and UHF CB

baofeng.jpg
Baofeng GT3-TP for FENZ IGC comms

1/4 wave whip for 75MHz for scanning
scanner antenna.jpg

UHF CB elevated feed antenna for UHF CB and 2m/70cm
uhf antenna.jpg

Using the 1/4 wave I have heard a 2m repeater around 150km away on my way to work.

Great little set up  Interesting you can scan in Australia (old English colony) but you can't scan in England!

Yeah it is interesting, but I am actually based in New Zealand but its pretty much the same as Aus

How the heck did I think Australia when your profile clearly shows your from New Zealand! I'm going to have to blame it on old age and the medication! :)

For anyone that is curious:

@OFFT4P: Now show your Falcon install. ;)

Not a Ford man, thankfully :p #LSTHEWORLD

Yeah the Camry radio was quite strange and is slightly shorter than double DIN and a little wider. The Baojie is alright, haven't tested it's audio too much but it will trigger a 2M repeater from 80+KM on high power so it must be close to its rated power output. I purchased a Kenwood KMC-30 microphone for it because I don't like buttons on my mics. But overall I'm happy and the only thing that annoys me is the dual watch VFO that can only be turned off by disabling the VFO. But for 80NZD I can't complain.

Nice work, mate.
What was the Camry like for running your coax cables?
I installed some radios in my 2010 Hilux a couple of years back.
To say it was problematic, would be grossly understating things.
