If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Looking for any suggestions on getting power and antenna cabling through the firewall of the 2016 Ford Expedition. There doesn't really appear to be any unused grommets available for one to use.

I am pretty sure you will have to go through the pass side kick panel into the wheel well area, (have to remove plastic wheel well) and then up into the engine compartment, same as the a Taurus or Ford 500. I can look in the up-fitter guide, but that's for a Police version, and may not be accurate for a civilian model.

I have a 2015 Expedition. I found a grommet on the right side of the firewall that had some other wires going through it. I was able to poke through that grommet and run a couple of RG-58 cables through there. They came out behind the glove box.

Thanks for the suggestion, but couldn't locate such a thing. I ended up going to a local stereo installation shop, and with their assistance we ended up using the spare (sealed off, nub looking) cable pass throughs on the factory grommets on each side of the vehicle. According to the shop, you can easily pass up to 4 gauge wire through each one of those additional pass throughs. So, power (10 gauge) and one antenna go through the grommet on the passenger side, and one antenna is going through the grommet located on the driver side. Took them about an hour to do the install, labor was very reasonable.
