• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Anyone know how long it might take for a repair on a 2096 from radio shack. Ive had mine in now for over 2 weeks and have had no contact from radio shack. Just wondering if anyone on here has had radio shack do work for them.

There are no in-store repair techs. Depends on how quick the store got it sent out. Depends on how far away the repair center is from the store (transit time). Depends on how busy the service center is. Depends on how quickly they can duplicate the problem you describe. Depends on if they have the parts in stock to fix it. 2 wks is not long to wait. That is the minimum that the stores I know of will tell you.

If you still have your receipt from when you sent it in to repair, there is a website address where you can go and check on the status of your repair.
