I don't know if this is a Montgomery County thing or a PA thing but what exactly are 27s and 29s?

27 usually means operator info.. 27 on OLN 23 234 423 etc...
29 is wants and warrants...

28's usually plate info GHS2342 etc..

Cops and dispatchers being so lazy that they abbreviate the abbreviations. These are ten-codes with the "10" part dropped.

n3obl correctly defines the meaning of 10-27, 10-28, and 10-29.

It's kinda like a trucker asking "what's your 20?"

This is done to save "airtime" to free up the frequency for other priority traffic.
