That's one of the new federal/military 380 MHz digital systems. I checked the RR database for that frequency in VA/DC/MD, but found nothing. Must be a new system.

If you create a new system in the 396 using this frequency, and then hold on the frequency, you can obtain the System ID and site number. You'll be able to track the system with just that single frequency, as the 396 can read all the data directly from the control channel.

How strong is the control channel from your location? This might help us figure out what base the system belongs to.

I'm not surprised you're not hearing any talkgroups. It seems many of these systems are still being installed.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait for some talkgroups on the system. The only two facilities I can think of are Dulles Airport or maybe the FAA's facility in the area. (I believe the FAA has a flight operations center in the area that monitors all US air traffic...?)

I am pretty sure there is an FAA facility in or right ourside Leesburg.

just as another note on the system, as I drove west towards Leesburg on the Dullas Greenway on my way home tonight, the signal dropped off around Leesburg where the new exit for Tolbert Lane is being built.

we also need to keep in mind of FEMA on Mt. Weather off of Rt7. I have seen large RVs with DHS plates as well as a few vans with the same type plates in Leesburg. on the way to work one morning in Berryville on Rt340, I saw 2 plane white vans with DHS plates pulling a trailer with parts of a tower on it.

I'm going to be listening to this also. Doing a search of the 380 range I've discovered some more systems.

0001h-0101
381.675 cc
381.825
381.975
385.0125
385.2125
385.8875
386.3375
TGs 100, 102, 112, 113, 135 (All voice)
110 sounded like what I heard on 168.925 (P25) in the past, Customs type ops at IAD
120
TG100 sounds like it's channel 1 for the Ft. Belvoir FD. I heard "Medic-463 returning".

0001h-0909 first displayed this ID then displayed "LT System"
387.675 cc
387.3375
385.775
TG 100 encrypted

0001h-0202
380.45 cc (The cc frequently switched between this and the other)
381.875 cc
380.175
380.4125
380.6875
380.7375
381.1625
TG100 and 403 are encrypted
411

380.075 cc displays "Los Angeles Util" It's supposed to be a cc for the 008 system

I don't know about ALL US air traffic; ARTCC Washington Center is on Leesburg Pike just east of the Leesburg Bypass. Very noticable is the hf log periodic array there.

380.125, TG 115 ~1100 hours

they continued testing. someone said that all radios were upgraded on the consoles and he would email the other person when he got back to his desk. they then said they were on the "Tyson's Tower".

Yes, I knew about Washington Center, but I thought that the FAA also had a facility in the area that monitors the current state of US airspace. They don't control air traffic from this facility, just monitor things.

What system ID is everybody in NOVA showing when they park their scanner on the 380.075 cc?
It seems to be the Army 008 system, but that's not what is being displayed.

On TG201 I actually had voice instead of encryption. He said something like "355 to Pentagon control"
Voice channels are 380.425, 380.725, ......

you had TG 201 on 380.075?

I didn't program that one in this morning but I did before I left work today. I was unable to receive it inside the building but could with the RS 800MHz antenna outside in the car. the SID is 0008h-0101

That frequency has been active for the last 6 month's as a control channel. Just that i haven't heard anything on it yet. By the way the 406 mhz US Dept of Defense system has been shutdown eversince they have been moved to the 380 mhz band.
