SDS200 Screen Flicker

2 days old the whole screen is Flickering! Mainly left side of full screen. Replaced SD card with brand new one still Flickering!!! Anybody else?

Your backlight is failed/failing.
(Depending on where you purchased) get it replaced

Haven't observed personally or heard via a previous post. Is it flickering all of the time when powered on or just under certain operations? What happens when power cycled?

On a 2 day old scanner it should be replaced. You don't pay $700 and 2 days later need to send it in for 4 weeks.

our warranty does not cover replacements, replacements would be handled through the retailer.

I'm thinking no, not after 2-days! It should definately be replace with a "new" scanner and not a refurbished return either.

Ok, I lowered the brightness on all 3 levels as described in another post seems to of disappeared for now! Are there any recommendations for settings?

Yup, I'll contact ScannerMaster see what they say. There seems to be pattern here with poor quality from Uniden I'm getting pretty sick of returning scanners for repair!!

Well from my video, that is the low end of the screen problems but hope and change is on the way.. I hope...

I lowered my display backlight settings.. that only lowers the problem. Cant see as well but if you hold it up to your face 2 feet away its still there. But to be true it is better than at full display brightness, except that is what I need it to be....

Now , its related to CPU load and pre-fetch to memory banks in my guess, just as the low level noise is in audio following the same pattern; this is disregarded vibration noise in speakers that is out of scope for this detail.

I adjusted my backlight dimmer levels per several suggestions..Yea Now I need to hold the scanner radio , yes its a radio close to my face to see the flicker if nothing is happening on the scanner.

Here is what I keep seeing in what seems some load condition even from 4 feet way with lowered dimmer levels; Lock the sds200 radio into a dept or Channel, then when your other scanners show they are receiving items on the same scan lists you have programmed but you have it locked on a dept or channel .. the screen lines get really busy of artifacts...

The first tests did not have other scanners on at all, but today it looks like when the scanner is fighting to hold your talk group, the screen gets really full of lines...

It’s still in return period more than likely so why bother messing with sending it for repair, just exchange for a new one
