We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hello,

I am a photojournalist and use the 396 and 996 daily for my work. I understand rebanding will happen this year (I am in Delaware). My question is does anyone know when the rebanding firmware fix will be available? I have a bad feeling I will be in the dark while waiting for the fix....

Thanks for your help.

Unless you're monitoring one of the systems affected by it - you don't need a fix.

If you are monitoring a system that is impacted, I can't imagine the delay will be long.

John,
If you have a Motorola Type I or II system it will affect you, otherwise it won't. Theres a lot of threads here on rebanding, checkem out.
