Anyone else hearing what sounds like someone applying for a credit card on the RCMP channel? This is about the third time I have heard this in the last couple of months. It is always the same thing, an automated voice saying to press pound to talk to one of their agents. This goes on for about five minutes then the call gets disconnected, followed by the famous beep beep beep, and then nothing.

Iv herd that a few times on the UHF channels.
On their orions all the buttons are setup for DTMF. So i think they use that to sign in or something like that maybe. Or to place some kind of call to check the status of something?

I think the horsemen's system requires/uses some kind of telephone link and that telemarketing "autodialers" which can roll through all the possible phone numbers in an area code sometimes activate their repeaters by accidentally calling the right number.

They sometimes "win cruises" in the same way. It is hillarious to hear the big fog horn at the beginning of the recorded message!
