Would this be a good choice for my Uniden sr30c? Remtronix 800B.
I am wanting a better antenna than OEM that will work well across all bands on this scanner.
Thanks for reading my post

The Remtronix 800 is only good if you're scanning in the 800mhz range.

I haven't really found anything to be the "be-all-end-all" of handheld scanner antennas. It also vastly differs on where you live and what you're listening to.

Sometimes owning a few handheld antennas is best for what you want to hear that day. When I want to scan our EMS, I use the Remtronix 800. When I want to do highway patrol, I use the Diamond RH77CA, since they're on a VHF system.

Still undecided on antenna choice for the sr30c. I have researched lots of sites and read reviews and have gotten no closer to a replacement .
Here is more info about what signals I receive in my area that may lead to more suggestions.
148-174 VHF High Band Police and Sherriff
108-137 Aircraft
420-450 Amature Band 70 cm note: I pick up HAM on my bct15 but very few on the sr30, makes me think it is antenna related
I pick up no CB or Railroad , could be there is little or no transmissions in my area, not sure. I do hear them on the bct 15.
Hopefully one of the members will read this and come to my rescue. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
Ray

Scanner Master now carries the Austin Condor made especially for the Uniden SDS100. Very tall but covers a multitude of frequency bands.

You might want to read the reviews on this antenna, not good. In fact it's not made especially for the Uniden SDS100, it doesn't even fit the SMA connector properly.

These are old reviews. In the last “The Scanner Guys” YouTube broadcast on 3-3-2021, Rich and Jonathan introduced the new Austin Condor
model recently released, especially for the SDS100. If you have trepidations about buying this new release, call Scanner Master and you can speak with Rich Carlson about the re-engineered Austin Condor for the SDS100.

This was the particular one regarding the SDS100 fit. It's a very common problem with most SMA antenna except the one Remtronix made especially for the SDS100. Scanner Master doesn't say anything about it fitting the SDS100 properly. If the Condor has been updated they should update your web page.

this antenna will not work with the new SDS100 the female on the SDS100 is a bit recessed and this antenna has the male end completely flush with the antenna rubber. .basically threw my money away on it. and no use trying to trim the rubber back as then the rubber will just separate from the connector completely again making it worthless and unusual

Yes, I did read the reviews. Didnt sound like it would be a good choice for my sr30c, which does have the BNC type connector.

Thanks for reading my post

The Remtronix 800B is as good as it gets for the 700-900 MHz range and does a respectable job on the 400MHz band. The Diamond RH77CA (16" tall) would be my choice for your other needs:

148-174 VHF High Band Police and Sherriff
108-137 Aircraft
420-450 Amature Band 70 cm

But it doesn't perform very well in the 700-900 MHz range.
