BCD436HP/BCD536HP: 436 scanner keypad fading

I know that the Uniden 436 Scanner is over 10 years old, but they are still selling them all over the place, I was wondering if they would ever start sell the keypad for this scanner. The letters on the (CHAN/MOD button is completely gone) and the other buttons are starting to fade from using the scanner. If they are still selling the scanner they must have these keypads in stock. Why do they not sell them to owners of the Uniden 436 scanner. ????

I feel your pain. Mine is 3months old and the buttons are faded too.
And I whish I could find a way to keep the back light on. Tried all of the stuff in the book no luck.

When I was using my keypad daily years ago and Uniden was still selling the keypad I bought 5 of them. Now that it sits attached to ProScan I have 4 keypads left collecting dust.

I remember a discussion here where some members suggested it's the natural oils on some peoples skin that caused premature wear. Both my 436 and 325 had keypad issues (I stocked up on 325 keypads as well, but sold the radio years ago).

My keypad was pretty worn also. I sent mine in for the repair campaign for the clock battery and dim display and it came back with a new keypad. The new keypad still looks good. Is that the original keypad on your scanner? Maybe, the labelling method was changed on later keypads.

Yes, it's the original keypad.
does anyone have a keypad to sell to me in Canada.
