BCD436HP/BCD536HP: 436hp USB port replacement

Has anyone here done this? It looks pretty simple... Well used scanner with a worn out port......

Both a 436 and a 100 of mine have had munged up USB ports.
I have the tools - and the skills, but......

Both went into Uniden for flat rate repairs.

if you need to program the scanner, just use the sd card, if you need to charge use an external charger

Seeing as how the 436 has the worst ever sd card holder, it's probably a lot better to fix or have the usb port fixed than mess with that flimsy sd card holder. Sometimes just swapping batteries in mine causes the no card error.

Using it for a base station now, kinda just want to keep it plugged in. Its so used up, I dont use it as a mobile anymore....

My SDS100 is a close contender. It's literally a delicate surgical procedure to lift the stupid thing up from the battery compartment surface to pop the card out.
