Is there a FREE software Program that decodes ALE soundings and saves the sounding and the frequency the sounding was picked up on, I do not want to buy software just to have this. I want to help people out but do not want to spend money just for this reason, I want to be able to scan a list of HF frequencies and have the program save the sounding and frequency, I know the other software programs do this, but you have to buy the software, I am looking for a FREEWARE program just to do this.

Multipsk and Sorcerer seem to be favored
I always liked PC-ALE also.

Multipsk - i am not sure what it will do in the "free" version

Yeah I just thought I'd try to help people out with the soundings but I don't want to go and buy the software just to do that

Thank you for the link I checked out all the freeware programs and see none that save frequency and sounding unless I missed something, you would have to buy a software program to do this.

I was thinking that can be done with PC-ALE (When you have a Rig it supports)

But it has been too long!

I will do some looking tonight my Radio computer is offline so cannot check from work today.

I have been playing with PC-ALE Software and have it up and running, I received two soundings that are from, FEMA But the PC-ALE Software did not save the frequency on the sounding line. Does anyone know how to get the software to save the frequency in the sounding line???

You have to have it set up with your rig.
Not just the audio to it.
Been too busy lately to fire up my radio computer and check PC-ALE

I'm trying to set it up with SDRplay RSPdx receiver but can't find any information to walk me through the setup. I made QRG file with the frequencies in it and I see the PC-ALE Software scanning it but that's as far as I have gotten.

Ref PC-ALE

I do not see any new stuff or SDR's

Look in Configuration --> MIL_STD-188-141A Options Then Radio Type

Sorcerer is able to decode ALE, the software can record signals and store the evaluated data.
Moreover, Sorcerer is free and available on the net. I use this software to decode ALE and I am
very satisfied with its performance (especially since this program costs nothing).

Apart from the UDXF reflector on groups.io, there are a few more places you can try to get support...

This has tips on using Sorcerer for ALE decoding

I'm not sure how much use these would be, but here they are;

The UDXF has hundreds of ALE logs every month. I don't doubt that you would find the help you need, but these look to be good alternatives. I also wouldn't ignore the SDRPlay tech support group or their community forum for additional leads.

As mentioned on the UDXF reflector (use the search tool to find it), Sigmira does indeed copy ALE even though the website and manual don't mention it (I understand there is a button called 'M141' on the GUI for this). It is supposed to support the RSP devices, and it's free

Though this isn't free this also deserves a look as there is a free version you can try before you buy. There are also 3 support article links on this page that may be worth reading. You get what you pay for....see what you get when you do a little homework?? (hint hint)

I would like to thank everyone for their input and trying to help me with the information you are providing, I think I will give Sorcerer software a try and see what this will do for me, again thanks everyone for your help.
