TRX-1: External Power

What is the external power requirement for the TRX-1? So I can run the scanner off external power instead of using the batteries.

It's 130mA while scanning with display lit and 180mA receiving at max volume, if my ampere meter are working correctly.

Pretty much any old USB cell phone charger should work.

I power mine 24/7 via USB. DC 5v 500mA is the spec per the manual for USB power.

I run mine without batteries as well but if you want to charge while scanning it will be an additional 200mA and a total of 380mA needed. So 500mA power recommendation seems logical. There's no charge monitor in the scanner, it just charge for the number of hours you set, so it's much better using an external charger that monitors both voltage and temperature.
