Sounds like a traffic net where people have a 3-digit identifier & report traffic stats of some sort. Anyone know what this is?

If you're looking for a "traffic" reporting channel, try "Shadow Traffic". Look up their frequencies. Should be 450 range stuff.

462.675 Repeater GMRS radio traffic

The radio traffic you are monitoring is a REACT group working with a local radio and or TV station getting traffic reports.I do this myself being a licensed operator for GMRS. I assist with traffic when we have the Indianapolis 500 Race on our GMRS repater and I help out our local REACT group with reports form the Nortwest Side of Indianapolis with the morning traffic rush when everyone's car is breaking down or we have numerious accidents due to the traffic conditions.This is a tradition of "Back Home Again In Indiana" and I look forward to doing this every year before the 500 Mile race starts in the afternoon.Tim DeLong Ham Radio operator W9NES, GMRS Licensed KAF3207. Yeah that must be it...it was around 7PM/1900.

The one you heard last night around 7 p.m. was out of South Bend Indiana, it was some sort of business..... I also was talking to them thinking it was someone on GMRS radio..
