Interesting, We got it figured out though huh Rescue?!! As to why your scanner picked that frequency up when you dead keyed it on the F4 we'll let the experts here surrender us an answer. How is the F4 doing in scan tonight? are you ready to change out some of those frequencies yet?

Very interesting channel grant. In Dallas our LTR high split freqs only go up to 487. Rescue 1017, if you have a PRO-97/2055 or PRO-164 program those three 488.xxxx freqs in and set the mode to "LT" and see if LTR talkgroup info. pops up.

In Houston the T-band is 488-492 MHz. In Dallas it's 482-488 MHz. There is a lot of LTR trunking in 488-492 in Houston. It is the home market of what used to be Champion Communications, now Fleet Talk. They have almost every 488-492 MHz frequency licensed in the Houston market.

He was getting that as a birdie when He was dead keying the PTT on an F-4 Portable trying to find the actual frequency that was programmed into channel-1. Incidently it was a 450 mHz frequency. which was not even close to what the scanner was actually showing. We've completely re-programed that radio I doubt Paul is even monitoring that anymore, I think he's happy with Listening to DPD and Paris PD now.

Thanks FWRADIO, I'll keep that in mind the next time I travel out of my home turf. I keep forgetting that channel grants most time have to do with the television grants in the area. Like LAPD being up in the low 500MHz range.

If you look through the Dallas DB you will see FOX-4 got a 500 mHz license. so were begining to open up higher here. Champion owned Houston when it existed I think Champion could be compared to Com-Tex here.

I think we are going to see an explosion of licenses in the Mid to upper T-Band here in North Texas when UHF TV goes Digital.

That is a very low power wireless mic frequency, not a private land mobile T band license.

Don't hold your breath on new bands opening up. The FCC would rather cash those in by auctioning them to some new digital technology.
