DETROIT (WXYZ) - Five firefighters have been injured in a fire on Detroit’s southwest side.
The firefighters were injured in a building fire on Oakwood boulevard near Dix. They responded to the fire around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning and were injured due to falling bricks.
Fire crews are still on the scene, however it is reported the fire is now out. They are reporting the fire as suspicious in nature.
All firefighters were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital in stable condition. Four firefighters have since been released; two of them suffered broken arms. The additional firefighter remains at Detroit Receiving for observation. His condition is not known at this time.
