Hey Folks,
Now that this band is lighting up here in the North East I'm finding the shortcomings of using an 860 antenna to pick up 770Mhz signals.

Has anyone purchased a 770Mhz base omni antenna for outdoor use yet?

I'm considering this 6dBi antenna.

$65 doesn't seem like a bad deal. Any other opinions or other recommendations?

Have you tried a 1/4 wavelength wire? 3-1/2" to 3-3/4".

I've been using my 800MHz antennas too for our 770MHz system in Jersey. No problems at home as I'm close to a site. I have a Larson tri-bander for mobile use and its working quite well on 770. I drive around south Jersey a lot and the 770 system is a good copy most of the time. Hopefully I'll be lucky and not have to get any more antennas. I'm running out of places to put them.

I'm trying to get NJ and DE systems so I needed some gain. The 6dBi omni should help pull in the sites in my general listening area. Key being no UYagi required. All there (most) of the time within the limits of the antenna system.

I actually am receiving amazing performance on the 700MHz band with an HDTV yagi that I rotated 90 deg. about the boom for vertical polarization.

I received the antenna and can say it performs extremely well even in the attic. Need to get it on the roof this week.
