hello all. i have a pro 2018 and it has worked fine up untill the city police and county sheriff dept changed to 800 mgh. now i hear nothing. does anybody make a plain jane 800 mgh scanner that dont cost $300 to$400? all i need is around 10 channels. all the bells and whistles i dont need, i just want to hear the police calls and sheriff calls.
thanks

Here's the thing...

Assuming your listed location is correct...

You will need a scanner capable of tracking their trunked system and decoding P25 digital signals...

So a scanner that just receives 800MHz won't quite do it for you.

Just like you were told back in June...

To decode the 800 MHz P25 signals you need a scanner equipped with a digital decoder which isn't a cheap piece of hardware at the moment. You're going to need one of those $300-400 if you want to listen.
I know you could probably get a good deal watching auctions on ebay. GRE, Uniden, RadioShack all make digital scanners

Seriously, this thread has a specific topic and this site is a place to learn.

I cannot believe the number of posts nitpicking somebody who came here to try to learn something new about the hobby.

You guys should be ashamed.
