800 weekly updates

I am a new owner of a 800,just wondering about the weekly updates,do you have to have the cable linked to your computer or does it do it from the scanner when you press update from library,probably a stupid question to ask,but I am having a lot of little problems getting things the way I like them to be,maybe I am to fussy,still love my PSR 500.any help would be appreciated.

Update the library in the software (v. 96 was released yesterday) then use the software to copy it to your PSR-800. You generally want to accept the option to update objects you previously imported from the library, unless you've customized them in some way (e.g. edited their alpha-tags).
