• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I am a new owner of a 800,just wondering about the weekly updates,do you have to have the cable linked to your computer or does it do it from the scanner when you press update from library, probably a stupid question to ask,but I am having a lot of little problems getting things the way I like them to be,maybe I am to fussy, still love my PSR 500.any help would be appreciated.

Update the library in the software (v. 96 was released yesterday) then use the software to copy it to your PSR-800. You generally want to accept the option to update objects you previously imported from the library, unless you've customized them in some way (e.g. edited their alpha-tags).
