I didnt understand what i was hearing because it was a telephone conversaion but i thought that cordless are in the 900 Mhz range+ or the old ones in the low VHF range.. is it possible that i piccked up a cell connvo??

it was heard on my uniden 296D it was either 5 or 12.5 stepping

thanks

Probably an 800 MHz system with telephone interconnect or an image of cellular.

Yes, they don't make cordless phones in that range.

An image is one of the types of signals that can be received when the scanner is tuned to a different frequency.

Google "Image Rejection" and see if it makes sense to you.

Hello Slidder ,869-892 mhz is cell, Some times get both sides of conversation sometimes not.Paul

well the convo i heard was on 812.xxxx Mhz i only have the uniden 296D scanner so i the analog cell frequencies are blocked....

also i notice alot of other frequencies close in the lower 800 range that i query on TAFL and it comes back to Telus (DIGITAL, IDEN) all i hear is a digital knocking sound.... what is that?

Perhaps if you could post the exact frequency, and what area you were in when you heard it, we might be able to identify it with a bit more certainty.
