I have a piece of RG58 coax that says 95% on it. What does the percentage mean? Does it mean that it looses 5% of signal?

Oh good grief, that's the percent of dielectric insulation the braid covers! To put it another way, 5% of the dielectric is uncovered.

EEEeeeh probably right, on scanner frequencies it looses 95% of the signal, it's only good for HF actually.
