996 - Turn Off Custom Scan

Last night I as driving and my sun glasses fell down from the holder up near the rear view mirror and hit a button on my 996 scanner...

Now instead of trying to scan my programmed frequencies it is doing a custom scan and is scanning CB Radio frequencies... (Custom 2 I believe)

How do I turn this off and go back to regular scanning mode?

I know on the 396t scanner all you do is press the scan button and the scanner starts scanning the frequencies that are in the scanner.

In fact, go through all of them and make sure that they are locked out. There are service search (like CB) and custom, lock them all out and you'll never have to worry about it.

And no, the manual is not at all clear about this.

I have the same problem, and your fix ISN'T working.

Not my radio, trying to fix this for a friend.

Can NOT turn off custom search. Locked out all the search banks, STILL goes there after scanning regular bank.

Press/Select: Menu > Search for > Edit Service (or Edit Custom) > [select the service or custom] > Search With Scan > Set Lockout > Lockout
